Next Adventure

We're soon to have our annual visit from Steve and Judy, we are excited! Judy is Brenda's sister from St. Louis. Every year we look forward to showing them something new. This year will be no different, something new, this year's adventure is to be in Venice. Judy is a teacher and therefore needs something to look forward to, something to ease her troubles. Don't you teachers agree? She deserves it, a short spring break, a glass of wine and an adventure to tell the other teachers while having a cup of coffee. We'll see if we can show them a good time. At least have a descent cup of coffee or just maybe a cappuccino.

Living outside the U.S.A.

It started in the early 1970s when I had an apartment in Okinawa, Japan while I was in the Air Force, after that we've lived in Calgary, Canada 1996-97, Cork, Ireland 2000-02, and now we've been in England since 2004. I would say that one of the best things for me about living in England is the opportunity it affords us to travel, because that's how we like to spend our holidays. Our big incentive to move to England and Europe was to be nearer our grandchildren that live in Norway. We found an opportunity and took it, we've seldom looked back, although we miss family and friends in the states.

Last October we took the grandchildren and our son and daughter-in-law (Eirild) to Euro-Disney outside of Paris and had a blast. Just seeing their faces light up was worth it. To see Disneyland through their eyes was priceless. That included their parents.

The opportunities for travel are endless. Last year we went to Crete, Egypt, France, Belguim, and Norway. Plus all the side trips to places around England like London, Bath, and Oxford. We love seeing new places and meeting new people. And taking in a London play now and then isn't all bad either.
We're off to Venice for a second time in March. We go in less than two weeks and are looking forward to the trip. We enjoyed it then and we're going to have a blast showing my wife's sister (Judy) and her husband (Steve) around. I guess we like being tour guides. We also have a trip planned for Santorini, Greece, one of the small Greek isles. We've already been to Norway this year and have our next trip there already planned.
